New Direction

Hi everyone,
I have chosen a narrower aspect of trenchless technology to write my report on. My research is now going to focusing on how trenchless technology methods compare to trench methods for sewer construction in Kamloops.

  1. Give the City of Kamloops a call, see if you can arrange a meeting with someone who can help you. Maybe a civil inspector?

  2. Here's an article that I came across in the Province. It's about a tunnel being installed in Vancouver that is using a method that is causing some controversy. It's called the "Cut-and-cover" method and I'm not so sure why it is causing debate. Maybe it's dangerous or something.

    Here's the article:

And here's some information on the project from Canada Line:

  3. Hey Brandon,
I'll see if I can find anyone who knows someone who could help me at the City of Kamloops.
    Thanks!

  4. Hi Anika,
I didn't even know that there was a cut-and-cover method for tunnel construction, and the web-site link you gave me was very interesting.

    Thank you

  5. You could talk to Randy (who does the lab demo for David's class). She used to work for the City of Kamloops Engineering department.
